About This GameWelcome to Pandemic Express - Zombie Escape! We've played a lot of Zombie Escape-style mods, and wanted to make something standalone, and on a large scale. Up to 30 players spawn in a large world. One of them gets randomly infected, and has to spread the infection turning everyone into zombies. The human players desperately try to escape on a train through an onslaught of what seems like endless zombie hordes.

Hey everyone! The weekly update is here! This time we've made changes to the way zombies are respawned, which will bring a new tactical dimension to the zombie gameplay. Please don't forget to restart your Steam client if you didn't receive the update automatically Here's the full patch note: v..0.8.2.003 19/05/31 - New Zombie Respawn system - Upon dying, a zombie enters the respawn mode - A zombie can spawn anywhere on the map if these conditions are met: 1) There are no humans in the zombie's field of view 2) The zombie is outside 20m radius of any human 3) The zombie isn't on the train - While in respawn mode, a zombie can always teleport to a zombie nest - A zombie can teleport to a nest by pressing R, same conditions apply - Fixed shotgun reload sound Have fun! . Our goal is to find a good balance — a state of the game where playing as a human and as a zombie is both fun and challenging. Today we tested the first iteration of the Friend Invite system and it wasn't stable enough for us to roll out to the main branch. There are a couple of server-side issues we need to fix first, so the team went to bed and will work on fixing the remaining issues tomorrow. We expect the feature to rollout within 24h. Meanwhile I had a chat with the current #1 ranked Pandemic Express player - Twixted - and he was kind enough to allow me to share some of his gameplay highlights. We knew we had dynamic movement in the game, but the way he combines "rocket jump"-style mechanics with sliding and traverses through the map is beyond insane. Upcoming Friend System Playtest: Hi all and thanks for the wonderful reception in the first day of Pandemic Express! While there are issues, I'm happy we were able to fix a critical lobby bug and for most of the rest there's a clear plan on fixes. The only issue we don't fully know how to solve yet is Chinese players reporting crashes on startup when the system is in simplified Chinese -- figuring that one out. Tomorrow we will be playtesting an important server and client update (featuring the first iteration of the friend invite system). This will require a few people to play together, and groups of Steam friends to stress test the system. In order to make the best of the playtest, we invite everyone to join. The team is working relentlessly on making the core of the game even more enjoyable (more on that in later announcements) and adding more content. Talk to you next week!. Friend invites are coming!: Hi all! Thanks for a very eventful launch day! We just pushed out an update that addressed an issue with lobbies not filling up properly. It should now be fixed. I wanted to reiterate on our upcoming roadmap. We initially pushed the feature to invite your frirends to a midterm backlog, and quickly realized we made a mistake. So Friend Invites is now on our top priority list and is coming soon. Thanks for the love thus far, and see you on the train <3
